Acadia National Park, ME - Part I

2009-10-08: I stopped in Bangor en route to Acadia and picked up something I needed badly - a military surplus wool blanket. That, I hoped, would make camping a bit more tolerable. Once at Acadia, I got on the road that ascends Cadillac Mountain. There are a number of scenic overlooks all the way up. At the summit, the wind was very cold and gusty. Only lichens and the toughest of small plants grew up there. The campground was set in a quiet forest that seemed mostly dominated by evergreens.
